Meet Our Staff

Paul Tilly 

Paul graduated from Palmyra-Macedon Central School in Palmyra, NY.  He Graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Economics.  He worked for Prudential for 17 years as an agent and in management.  He started the Tilly Agency with his wife, Betty Lou, in 1979, and became a LLC in 1996. Paul presently serves as president of the Paul F. Tilly Agency, LLC.  Paul and Betty Lou celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in November of 2009.  Paul is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the LLC.

Betty Lou Tilly

Betty Lou grew up in Avon, NY.  She is a graduate of Avon Central School.  She attended Geneseo State Teacher's College.  Betty Lou and Paul married, and she is the mother of Michele and Rene.  She and Paul are the original partners in starting the Paul F. Tilly Agency.  Betty Lou was the office manager and receptionist of the Agency, and the secretary of the LLC until 2009, when she retired. 

Michele P. Tilly-Robles

Michele was married in 1982, and is the mother of 2 boys.  She has 2 granddaughters.  Michele lives in Leicester, NY.  She began in the insurance industry in 1980.  Michele became a licensed agent in 1987, and an accredited advisor of insurance in 1993.  She became a partner of the Paul F. Tilly Agency, LLC. in 1996.  In 2008, Michele received her AAS in Accounting from Genesee Community College, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa.  Michele is currently the President of the LLC.

Rene A. Tilly-Lyness

Rene was married in 1982, and is the mother of 2 children.  She also has 4 grandchildren.  She resides in the farm community of York, NY.  Rene started in the insurance industry in 1985.  She became a licensed agent in 1987, and an accredited advisor of insurance in 1993.  Rene became a partner at the Paul F. Tilly Agency, LLC. in 1996.  In 2008 Rene received her AAS in Accounting from Genesee Community College, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa.  Rene is currently the Chief Financial Officer of the LLC.

Carolyn B. Lyness-Barratt

Carolyn grew up in York, NY.  She graduated from York Central School in 2001,  and became an property & casualty agent in 2005.  She became a partner in 2006. Carolyn has taken over the receptionist and office manager duties, and is currently the Vice President in charge of Marketing.  In 2009, Carolyn received her life, accident and health license.   She lives in Leicester, NY with her husband Jonathan, and their son Andrew.

Julie A. Harcleroad

Julie grew up in York,NY.  She graduated from York Central school in 2006.  Julie is currently the secretary at the Tilly Agency.
